On this day in history, the game of Monopoly was born (sort of)

If you want to, you can get into a lengthy debate about who, exactly, came up with the idea of the game Monopoly and who, exactly, invented it and what day, exactly, stands as its birthday.

But on this day in history, the Parker Brothers game company decreed March 19th, 1935 as the official birthday of the game that has disturbed many a family holiday gathering or week at the cabin.

Some of us are still upset that they got rid of the thimble when they updated the game tokens in 2017.
