There are some holiday films that instantly come to mind this time of year. One that both children and adults can relate to is the groundbreaking movie that led the way for this category, Miracle on 34th Street. 

The film, in which a department store Santa Claus claims to be the real Santa, has become a classic. Penned and directed by George Seaton, it launched the career of then 8-year-old Natalie Wood, and landed Edmund Gwenn an Oscar.
